Jenny Broaddus, PhD, LPC

With a Masters Degree in Counseling and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and Development, Dr. Broaddus is uniquely positioned to help professionals increase emotional intelligence that positively influence their work experience and improve professional/personal relationships. Jenny has over 20 years experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) helping clients navigate life adjustments, relationships, conflict, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, imposter syndrome, etc. She is a LPC supervisor and continues to train counseling interns. While leadership theorists value emotionally intelligent leaders, there was a lack of research and resources to develop emotional intelligence. She believes the answer is in psychotherapy.

“I believe self-awareness through professional counseling is a vehicle toward healthy and effective leadership through the transferrable embodiment of emotional intelligence and authentic leadership competencies. There needs to be a shift in strategy for emotional intelligence and authentic leadership development to the caught not taught model. I look forward to starting this journey with you.”

Dr. Broaddus counsels primarily from the Adlerian perspective through supportive techniques. Its mission is to encourage the development of psychologically healthy and cooperative individuals to effectively pursue the ideals of social equality and democratic living. An optimistic and inspiring approach to therapy, it balances individuality with social responsibility.

When she is not counseling, Jenny dabbles in McDonald’s french fries, interior design, antique shopping, reading, and managing her family of eight.

Testimonials

"Trust in my counselor helped me voice things out loud, and once I heard them there was no going back. The environment of trust pushed me to see my leadership weaknesses and do something about it."
"When we become more self-aware, we become less self-focused, how paradoxical is that? Counseling for leaders when engaged with openness in a supportive space to explore the past increases self awareness."
"Counseling is being able to go somewhere and discuss things that you don't necessarily want to discuss with other people. A place where you can feel safe and not judged."
"I started to uncork the why behind my apathy allowing me to give other people more space and freedom to have their stuff too."
